Simple self care habits for busy women
In recent years there has been a lot of talk about romanticizing your life. It might seem insignificant but these tiny changes can add up. Setting simple self care habits is not as difficult as you might think. Let’s explore some simple ideas that you can implement today and that won’t break the bank.
Before you attempt a self care routine, you must start by figuring out what makes you happy. It can be something as simple as drinking your coffee in a pretty mug, listening to your favorite playlist on your way to work or adding aromatherapy to your bedtime routine. Once you have discovered the little things that make you happy, it’s time to be intentional and add them to your daily life. In order to get the most benefit from these changes, you must slow down and learn how to enjoy the moment. Don’t let this be just another thing on your to do list. The point of these small acts is to bring joy into your life daily. Sip your coffee a little slower, snap a picture of beautiful moments throughout your day or simply take a few deep breaths.
I recommend picking 2-3 things that won’t overwhelm you. Don’t pick the examples listed above. The point of this is to find what makes YOU happy. Once you have picked something try adding it to your routine for the week and see how you feel. Make sure to set yourself up for success by leaving things somewhere easy to see, set a reminder on your phone or place sticky notes on your mirror, nightstand, desk or car.
See how these small acts make you feel and adjust as needed. If they continue to bring you joy then keep them as part of your every day life. If they don’t, you can always try different things until you find the ones that fit best into your life.
Remember that life is short and no matter how busy you are, you must learn to enjoy the small moments. These small moments are what make life worth living. Stop waiting for the massage that you treat yourself to once a year. Make yourself happy TODAY! You deserve it!
